Jaipur, Aug 25: Rajasthan government has decided to give a revolving funds of Rs 12 lakhs to each of the 32 district collectors for meeting exigencies of drought, an official spokesman said here today.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the high level committee, headed by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, here yesterday, the spokesman said. While Rs 10 lakh would be for arranging drinking water in needy areas in a district, Rs one lakh would be for medical and health services and the same amount for protection of cattle.

The committee expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made so far for relief works, drinking water supply, cattle conservation and fodder distribution, he said. The relief works had already been launched from August 16 with the first months ceiling of labourers fixed at 4.18 lakhs. Against this 2.50 lakh labourers had already been provided employment on relief works, the spokesman said.

The chief minister asked the MPs and the MLAs to utilise their local area funds in fighting drought haunting the state for the fifth consecutive year. Bureau Report
