Mumbai, Aug 16: Noted social activist, Anna Hazare, who is currently on a fast-unto-death, today maintained that he would continue with his agitation despite the government's decision to appoint a one-member commission to probe into the 'irregularities' by four ministers as alleged by him. Hazare told reporters here that that he was unhappy over the one-man probe panel since such probes often take a longer duration of time. "By the time the inquiry takes place, state assembly elections would be round the corner," a visibly disappointed Anna said.

Hazare said he had earlier suggested a three-member probe. However, he was even ready for setting up of two separate commissions of one member each to probe the allegations. "Each commission could examine the allegations against two ministers. This would help in expediting the probe", the social crusader, who is on an eight-day fast said. "They can either appoint a separate judge to probe the allegations against me or any one they choose," he said.

He also stuck to his demand of resignations of four ministers. Refusing to accept that the government had conceded to his demands, he said, "where has the government accepted my demands. I will not be satisfied merely by assurances. I want the government to promulgate an ordinance on my demands," he said.

His demands included ordinances on the transfer policy, empowerment of gram sabha and speedy implementation of administrative procedures.
