Lucknow, July 07: A day after the All India Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) rejected Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi's formula to solve the Ayodhya issue and said it would follow future suggestions in accordance with Shariat, the BJP today said construction of Ram temple would be in accordance with the spirit of Shariat. "The Shariat says that no place of worship should be acquired under duress. It also specifies that Namaz offered from that place has no sanctity in the eyes of Allah,” BJP state president Vinay Katiyar told reporters adding ... "as remnants of temple have been found in the on-going excavations the Muslims should gracefully hand over the disputed site to Hindus."
He said the kar sewa was performed on December 6, 1992 as per Shariat. "We respect Shariat and therefore urge the Muslims not to use force to capture Hindu's place of worship, Katiyar said.
When asked about the failed attempt of Kanchi seer to solve Ayodhya issue by talks, the BJP chief said that the formula of the Shankaracharya was his personal one.
Still by rejecting Kanchi seer's formula the AIMPLB has belittled the dignity of Sants, Katiyar said.
He said the Hindus will construct Ram temple as per the directions of sants - come what may.
