New Delhi, Sept 02: TDSAT, the telecom tribunal, today reserved its judgement on V5.2 case where cellular operators have sought prohibiting basic operators from using Mobile Switching Centres. As the arguments on the case concluded today, the three member bench chaired by Justice D P Wadhwa asked the two sides, basic and cellular, to file their written submissions by September 8.

The cellular operators had petitioned Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal, pleading that the basic players should be restricted to V5.2, and in particular be prohibited from using Mobile Switching Centres (MSCs) to limit the mobility on WLL phones, a stand opposed by basic players.
Simply put, V5.2 is the language of signals connecting base station controller to the local exchange. Bureau Report
