Mumbai: Popular TV shows ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’ ruled the Zee Rishtey Awards 2015 night, bagging three awards each.

The event, which was aired on Sunday night, was a tribute to the relations the actors and actresses have built with the audience over the years. It was celebrated as 'Rishton Ka Safar'.


 ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ won the Favourite Pati Patni award for actors Shabbir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha, who essay Pragya and Abhi in it. Additionally, the family which features in the show, had a tie with the family of ‘Jamai Raja’, for Favourite Kutumb award. The award for Best Story on the channel also went to ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, which is penned by Anil Nagpal.


Meanwhile, ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’ bagged the title of Favourite Beti and Favourite Naya Sadasya, essayed by Drashti Dhami and Siddhant Karnik respectively.


As pairs, actors Jasmin Bhasin (Twinkle) and Sidhant Gupta (Kunj) who feature in ‘Tashan-e-Ishq’ and Ankita Sharma (Lajwanti) and Sid Makkar (Sunderlal) from ‘Lajwanti’, took the Favorite Nayi Jodi trophy home.


Actress Shiny Doshi, who features in the new show ‘Sarojini’, won the Favourite Bahu award.


Apart from these popular categories, actors of the Zee channel fraternity were felicitated across several other categories like Favourite Maa, Buzurg, Guru-Shishya, Saas-Bahu, Dulara Dushman, Sauatan, Naya Sadasya - Male and Female, Screenplay and Dialogue.


Zee TV also felicitated shows from channels they are in competition with, at the awards ceremony. This was a concept that the channel introduced last year. This year it was conferred on ‘Udaan’ from Colors, ‘Gangaa’ from &TV and ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ from Star Plus.


The celebrities who graced the red carpet were judges of ‘India’s Best Dramebaaz season 2’ -- Sonali Bendre, Sajid Khan and Vivek Oberoi. Other than that, actors Ravi Dubey, Dhrashti Dhami, Siddhant Karnik, Nia Sharma, Ravish Desai, Vrushika Mehta, Vaishnavi McDonald, Surbhi Jyoti, Farida Jalal, Achint Kaur, Apara Mehta, Daljit Kaur, Mita Vashistha, Sadiya Siddique, Bhawna Balsaver and Mohit Sehgal marked their presence here.


The show also had dance performances from some TV stars.
