Srinagar, Sept 03: Jammu and Kashmir government today instituted awards for outstanding performance in eight different fields including bravery, literature and meritorious public service.
Srinagar, Sept 03: Jammu and Kashmir government today instituted awards for outstanding performance in eight different fields including bravery, literature and meritorious public service.
Persons with excellence in arts and crafts, social
reforms and empowerment, sports and life time achievements in
any other field would be entitled to the state awards to be
given on Independence Day every year, a meeting chaired by
state education minister Harshdev Singh said.
A medal, a citation, free education upto 10 +2 and monthly scholarship of Rs 500 upto class X and Rs 1000 post class X education would be awarded for bravery to children, while the adults in this category would be awarded a medal, Rs 51,000 and citation, official sources said.
A shawl, Rs 51,000 and a citation in each category would be awarded for achievement in the field of literature, art, craft, social reforms and sports and meritorious public service.
The award for life time achievement would carry a medal, a citation and Rs one lakh, the sources said.
Nominations for these awards would be made by concerned authorities on different areas after the list of awardees will be finalised at a state level committee comprising education minister, leader of opposition in legislative assembly and others, the sources said. Bureau Report
