New York, Nov 03: Hindi blockbusters 'Kaante' and 'Sur' dominated the "Bollywood Music Awards", bagging top honours for their music teams.
'Aa bhi ja' from Sur was adjudged the best song of the year and Sonu Nigam won the award for best male singer for his renderings in Saathiya.


The music awards were presented at a glittering star studded function organized in the trump Taj Mahal Casino of Atlantic city. More than 5000 people from New York, New Jersey and connected states especially travelled to the city, known for its casinos. While the best female singer honour went to Sunidhi Chauhan for 'Kaante', Pankaj Udhas was given the lifetime achievement award.

Pritish Nandy Communications was adjudged the outstanding music producer of the year for the "phenomenal success" of all the four movies produced by it- Kaante, Sur, Jhankaar Beats and Mumbai Matinee. Sukhwinder, Hans Raj Hans, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and Kumar Sanu gave sizzling performances.

Anand Raj Anand got the award for best music director for his effort in 'Kaante' and the award for best new musical talent was cornered by Mahalaxmi Iyer for her performance in 'Sur'. Bureau Report
