New Delhi, Oct 19: Alleging that the outbreak of dengue in the capital was due to the "criminal negligence and incompetence" of Sheila Dikshit-led government, BJP today demanded the resignation of Delhi Mayor and MCD standing committee chairman.
"Dengue broke out due the criminal negligence, incompetence and corruption of the Delhi government and MCD as the water supply lines were worn out and the leaked water stagnated at many places," BJP (Delhi) president Madan Lal Khurana said.
Khurana said that many women led by BJP (Delhi) mahila morcha president Meera Kanwaria would form a human chain outside MCD headquarters tomorrow and demand the resignation of Delhi mayor and MCD standing committee chairman.
He also called an emergency meeting of the BJP doctors' cell tomorrow to chalk out an action plan for preventing the incidence of dengue and to provide health services to the affected.
