Congress on Monday ridiculed the Prime Minister's remarks on the leadership issue in the party asking him instead to set his own house in order and taunted him with the question who is BJP's "number one" - Atal Bihari Vajpayee or Home Minister L K Advani.
"Congress Party has a well established chain of command with Sonia Gandhi both as defacto and de jure head of the party", Party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters while reacting to Vajpayee's remarks at a poll rally at Bhatinda yesterday that there was no leader in Congress after Gandhi.
He said that all the survey reports that have been published were of the view that most of the well performing Chief Ministers belong to Congress which showed that the Party has many leaders in its rank with both talent and stature
"Look at the BJP. Its chain of command is confused and it is difficult to say whether Prime Minister Vajpayee is number one or Home Minister L K Advani. Human Resource Development Minister M M Joshi has been brought into the picture to compete with Advani", Reddy said. Bureau Report
