Hall is in negotiations to start his filmmaking career with "Thank You for Your Service", DreamWorks' post-traumatic stress disorder drama.

Hall already wrote the script for the project, which is based on David Finkel's book, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

DreamWorks acquired the rights to the book as an unpublished manuscript in March 2013.

The story follows three US soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to adjust back into family and civilian life.

"American Sniper", a biopic on slain Navy Seal Chris Kyle, also tackled a similar theme and revolved around Kyle's attempt to reconcile military life with his home life.
