Los Angeles: New Line Cinema has started the work on sequel of last year's horror hit "Annabelle".

Touted as the prequel to James Wan's "The Conjuring", the 2014 film was penned by Gary Dauberman, who is returning to write the script of the sequel, reported Variety.


Directed by John R Leonetti,"Annabelle," was produced by Peter Safaran and James Wan.


The film generated over USD 250 million worldwide.


The original cast of part one starred Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton and Alfre Woodard.


For now there are no other attachments to the sequel.
