Rinku Singh and Dinesh Kumar Patel won the Million Dollar Arm competition co-created by US sports agent JB Bernstein and Ash Vasudevan back in 2008.

Their inspiring story led to the Disney box-office hit 'Million Dollar Arm' earlier this year. Now the producers behind the biopic are set to capture the Indian market further with a Bollywood version of their story, expected to star big names in the Indian film industry.

"The script of the Bollywood version will be flipped as it were because it will be told entirely from Rinku and Dinesh's perspective," said Bernstein at the Host Cities Summit in Dubai on Wednesday.

"The script will prove enticing to a lot of big Bollywood actors, who had all joined in to promote the Hollywood version. We will unveil details over the next month," added Vasudevan.

The plans for the Bollywood film are in pre-production stages and will be produced by Aspire Entertainment, a company co-founded by the team behind the Million Dollar Arm contest to promote creative talent.

The announcement came alongside the launch of the third season of the competition, which goes to cities and small towns across India to discover pitchers who can play Major League Baseball in the US.
