Lloyd Braun of Whalerock Industries and Thor Halvorssen will also produce the feature, said The Hollywood Reporter.

Marc Guggenheim will be writing the script. 'The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress' tells the story of a lunar colony's revolt against rule from Earth. It was nominated for the 1966 Nebula Award and won the Hugo Award for best science fiction novel back in 1967.

Attempts to adapt the novel for big screen had been made twice before by DreamWorks and Phoenix Pictures, but none came to fruition.

As for the latest effort by Twentieth Century Fox, no details have been made available just yet, including shooting schedule, cast, and release date.
