Los Angeles: Actress Emma Watson, who played Hermione through the complete Harry Potter film series, is eager to see black English actress Noma Dumezweni playing the character in the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child".

The 25-year-old actress took to Twitter to voice her support to the casting of black Hermione, which received a lot of flak from fans on internet, reported People magazine.

"Can't wait to see Noma Dumezweni as Hermione on stage this year," Watson wrote adding a string of heart emojis. In the past author JK Rowling also tweeted her support for the casting decision.

The two-part play, which is based on a new original story by Rowling, catches up with Harry, Ron and Hermione as adults before shifting the focus to Harry's youngest son Albus.
