In the film by 'X-Men: First Class' director Matthew Vaughn based on a 2012 comic book, Firth plays savvy secret agent Harry Hart, who recruits an undisciplined street kid as his prodigy, reported the New York Post.

"I broke a tooth, which was probably the one that was most troublesome. I collided with a hard object. I don't know whether it was a gun or a pole? I don't think I particularly noticed (the pain) till later," Firth said about his injuries while filming at an SVA Theatre premiere earlier this week.

But despite the real danger on the set, the 54-year-old reinvented tough guy said he would like to take on more action roles.

"I guess this is the audition. If I passed it and they invite me in, I'll be there," he said.

Samuel L Jackson, who plays the new film's baddie, said, "I was already injured when I got there... I hurt my shoulder doing a film in Germany."
