Los Angeles: Actor Jack Davenport is in final talks to join the cast of inter-racial love-story movie "A United Kingdom."

To be helmed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Amma Asante, the film also stars, David Oyelowo and "Gone Girl" star Rosamund Pike, reported Variety.


Best known for playing British naval officer James Norrington in the "Pirates of the Caribbean", Davenport, 42, will join the ensemble cast, that includes, Tom Felton, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Laura Carmichael and Arnold Oceng.


The film revolves around the relationship between Seretse Khama, the chief to be of the powerful Bamangwato tribe in the British colony of Bechuanaland in the late 1940s, and a white, middle-class Englishwoman, Ruth Williams.


Written by Guy Hibbert, the film is produced by Oyelowo alongside Rick McCallum.
