The 2006 romantic comedy, which also featured Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jack Black, told the story of two heartbroken women who swapped homes in each other's countries, only to each meet a local man and fall in love.

While the film was not a huge hit upon its release, it has since become a festive favourite. Law, 41, said that he thought a follow-up was a good idea, reported Glamour magazine.

"That's a good idea... Absolutely," he said. The actor also said that he would love to work again with Miffy Englefield and Emma Pritchard, who played his young daughters in the film.

"The girls will be grown up... Oh my goodness, they'll be like teenagers. Miffy, she was such a sweet little girl."
