The 27-year-old actor has been recruited to lend his voice to the Boy Wonder in the upcoming spin-off from 2014's wildly-popular "The Lego Movie", reported Ace Showbiz.

The movie is scheduled to make its way out across the United States on February 10, 2017.

Cera's "Arrested Development" co-star Will Arnett is expected to reprise his role in the original movie as the voice of Batman.

Chris McKay serves as a director while "Lego Movie" helmer Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are on board as producers. The story is still kept under wraps but the movie is rumoured to acknowledge every era of Batman filmmaking.

The "Lego Batman" will be followed by "Ninjago" on September 22, 2017 with Charlie Bean ("Tron: Uprising") attached at the helm and "The Lego Movie Sequel" on May 18, 2018 with Rob Schrab ("Community") behind the lens.
