Los Angeles: Oscar-nominated filmmaker Damian Szifron has signed on to write the screenplay of Mark Wahlberg's ‘Six Million Dollar Man’ remake.

Szifron, who scored a 2014 Best Foreign Film Oscar nomination for ‘Wild Tales’, will adapt Martin Caidin's novel Cyborg for new movie ‘Six Billion Dollar Man’, according to The Hollywood Reporter.


Wahlberg is attached to star in the blockbuster and Peter Berg will direct the updated version of the ‘The Six Million Dollar Man’ TV series, which starred Lee Majors as Steve Austin.


In the new version, Wahlberg's character will play a military officer, who becomes half machine following a near-death accident.
