The Madras High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to the producer and director of Rajinikanth starrer `Linga` accusing him of allegedly stealing the story of another Tamil film named 'Mullai Vanam 999'. The court has sought a stay on the release 'Lingaa'.

The petition was filed by K R Ravi Rathinam who alleged that the story line of `Lingaa` was actually taken from `Mullai Vanam 999`, which he had written.

He insisted that the script was stolen after he had uploaded a video related to it and was supposed to release on the Tamil Nadu New Year date.

Following this petition, Justice M Venugopal of the court's Madurai Bench has ordered a notice to the officials, including Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which has to be answered by November 19, 2014.
