The actor, who is currently promoting his upcoming venture 'ABCD2' has some meaty roles in his kitty. Besides playing one of the leads in Rohit Shetty's 'Dilwale' featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Kriti Sanon, the actor will also be seen in the much-talked about 'Shuddhi'.

Filmmaker Karan Johar took to Twitter to announce that Varun and Alia Bhatt have been locked for the film. However, soon Salman Khan, who was earlier reported to have been cast for the film took to his Twitter handle and congratulated the young lad. He posted: “Kamaal karte ho Varun Dhawan...made ur dad n me so proud of u... happy Shhuddhi”

To which Varun humbly replied: “Thank you Bhai @BeingSalmanKhan I promise to make you proud #shuddhi”

It indeed must be a proud moment for the duo, as Salman has seen Varun grow as a person over the years--and to finally fit into the big shoes of Salman, is indeed worth a mention here.
