Seven booked by J&K Vigilance Bureau
Jammu, Oct 14: Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Bureau (JKVB) today booked former Chief Secretary in Farooq Abdullah government Ashok Jaitly, a local industrialist and five others in a corruption case involving awarding of a Rs 200 crore renovation contract to a private company here.

An FIR has been registered against Jaitly for entering into a criminal conspiracy with Ravish Trehan, managing director of Trehan Industries, Ashok Kumar and five others in awarding of a contract for renovation and operation of Canal Power House project in Jammu to Trehan at much higher costs of power production thereby causing huge recurring loss to the state exchequer, a JKVB spokesman said here.
The FIR was registered yesterday and multiple raids conducted by vigilance sleuths under supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police, vigilance, R S Swain and SSP Yoginder Koul at four premises of Trehan and some others at Jammu and New Delhi and some documents seized, the spokesman said. However, no raid was conducted at the house of Jaitly so far, he added. Bureau Report
