Kargil, Sept 07: With a view to preserve and promote the culture of Kargil and woo more tourists, a three-day festival is in progress in the cold desert region. Inaugurating the festival yesterday, chief executive councillor of the newly elected Kargil Hill Development Council Qamar Ali Akhoon said there was a lot of scope for tourism promotion in the district and all out efforts would be made to bring its scenic places on the tourist map. Apart from cultural programmes, an archery competition and a polo game is also being held in the festival. Bureau Report
