National champ Mukesh Kumar reaches sole leader position
Chennai, Aug 21: Mhow`s Mukesh Kumar, the current national champion golfer in the order of merit, snatched the sole leader position by a stroke to second placed Digvijay Singh of Meerut midway in the four round TNGF Colourplus Open, fourth leg of the Hero Honda tour here this evening.

The cut was applied at six over par 150 and 50 professionals and four amateurs have made it to the last two rounds. Vijay Kumar, who won a back to back titles in Bangalore and Chennai but failed to keep up the momentum in this tournament, withdrew from it due to an injury on his left thumb.
Mukesh Kumar carded a three under 69 despite his not so happy performance and had birdies on 1st, 4th, 5th and 16th and dropped a stoke on the 12th.

Binod Pandey , who shot a 7 over par 79 yesterday
had the satisfaction of having played a bogey free round today
for a three under 69 and was in 36th position overall.
As for the amateurs, Sandeep Syal was cut above the rest
to lead the table with a total of 144 (71-73) followed by
Selvadurai (148) and B Gurunath (149).
