New Delhi, Oct 09: Taking seriously the defeat of the party candidate in Solapur Lok Sabha poll, Maharashtra PCC chief has asked a report from all those ministers and party office bearers entrusted with campaigning during the by-election. "PCC chief is competent enough to seek a report from those ministers and party office who have been entrusted electioneering work in the Solapur Lok Sabha by-elections," AICC general secretary Vyalar Ravi told reporters.
However, Ravi clarified that the letter sent to eleven ministers entrusted with election duty and some office bearers were not a "show-cause notice or indictment" as they have been asked to clarify what they have done during the polls.
Meanwhile, two senior party leaders Moti Lal Vora and Balram Jhakhar, who have been appointed by the party high command to visit Solapur to find out the exact causes behind the defeat, returned here and would be submitting their report to party chief Sonia Gandhi within two to three days.
"We met district congress chief, both urban and rural, presidents of all the frontal organisations, election agents. We also interacted over 700 people in the constituency. They have submitted over 200 memoranda. We will go through it and finalise our opinion on the defeat", Vora said.
