Kolkata, Apr 03: A man has been arrested in Rabindra Nath Tagore's Nobel theft case. Initial investigations showed his finger and palm prints matched with those found at the site of the crime.
Twenty seven year old Pradeep Bauri, former contract gardener at the Vishwa Bharati University, was detained from neighbouring Bolpur area on March 29 along with some other suspects.

Bauri has been handed over to CBI for further investigation, according to CID Additional DG R K Mahanti.
Though Bauri reportedly confessed his crime initially and was beginning to divulge details about his aides, he retracted his statement after getting a legal opinion from his counsels.

The youth, hailing from Supur village of Bolpur in Birbhum district, was known to be involved in petty crimes in the region and was arrested in a drunken state. Bureau Report
