Normal life paralysed in Jammu
Jammu, July 23: Normal life was paralysed in Jammu city and Kathua town today following a strike call given by various socio-political organisations protesting the killing of Vaishno Devi pilgrims at Katra and increased terrorist violence in Jammu division.

Shops and commercial establishments remained closed, while commercial vehicles were off the road. However some government vehicles were plying on the roads.
Attendance at government offices and other public sector undertakings was thin, official sources said.
No untoward incident was reported so far, they said. Reports from Kathua said that normal life was affected due to the strike call as inter-district transport was not plying in the division, the sources said.
The bandh call was given by Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, state units of BJP, VHP and Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena and National Conference at separate meeting yesterday to protest the rise in terrorist violence in Jammu.
These parties criticised the coalition government for its failure to protect the Vaishno Devi pilgrims from terrorist violence at Katra on Monday. Bureau Report
