Manama (Bahrain), Oct 03: Terrorists threw Molotov cocktails into a police bus, wounding five officers, the government-controlled press reported today. One of the wounded policemen is in a "very critical condition" in hospital after the attack last night, an Interior Ministry spokesman was quoted by a Bahrain paper as saying. "Unidentified terrorists" lobbed Molotov cocktails into the bus as it was driving through Sitra, a large town about 7.5 km southeast of Manama, around 10 pm local time (0030 IST Friday), an Interior Ministry spokesman said, according to the official Bahrain news agency. The bus was carrying 12 policemen when it was attacked in front of the IBN Al-Nafees primary school for boys, it was reported. Apart from the critically injured policeman, the other wounded received severe burns, the paper said.
The reports, which could not be confirmed with government officials as Friday is the weekend, gave no indication of who the attackers might be.
