Jabalpur, Oct 11: Former Punjab chief minister Prakash Singh Badal said today the Shiromani Akali Dal would make all political endeavour with the BJP to keep Congress from coming to power in all the five states going to polls in December. Badal, who was here on a brief visit, told reporters his party opposed the Congress as its political aims were not congenial for the nation's development.

Referring to the CBI chargesheeting Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi in a forgery case and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati in the Taj corridor case, he said the "independence of the investigating agency is unquestionable".
On the role of Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in the raids conducted by the vigilance bureau against him and his family members, Badal said they were "politically motivated and simply to take revenge".
Badal said that he has filed criminal and civil cases against Amarinder Singh regarding his assets which, he alleged, were "accumulated by adopting illegal methods".
"Singh is a leader who has changed political parties several times to suit his political career", Badal said adding, first he was a Akali leader and when he was turned out from the party, he joined Congress.
