Meet Vidhi Shanghvi, Daughter of India’s Richest Billionaire and Heir To Rs 4.35 Lakh Crore Pharma Empire; Know Her Connection With Ambani Family

Vidhi Shanghvi, along with her brother Aalok Shanghvi, is the heir to the Rs 4.35 lakh crore healthcare empire built by their father, Dilip Shanghvi, founder of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries. Sun Pharma is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies globally.

Vidhi is an Economics graduate from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Her education has equipped her with the tools to navigate the complexities of the healthcare industry.

Currently the Vice President at Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Vidhi began her journey in the marketing department of the India Business division. Her hands-on approach and strategic insights have contributed significantly to the company's operations and growth.

Vidhi Shanghvi is passionate about mental health advocacy. She founded Mann Talks, a not-for-profit initiative offering free and holistic mental health solutions. Through this initiative, she aims to empower individuals to prioritize their mental well-being. 

Under the leadership of Dilip Shanghvi, Sun Pharma has grown to become the fourth-largest specialty generic pharmaceutical company in the world, with global revenues of $5.4 billion (around Rs 44,820 crore). Its 43 manufacturing facilities serve over 100 countries, delivering high-quality, affordable medicines. 

Vidhi is married to Vivek Salgaocar, the son of Goa-based industrialists Shiv and Ranjana Salgaocar, bringing together two prominent business families. Notably, Mukesh and Anil Ambani's sister Deepti Salgaocar is married to Dattaraj Salgaocar, who is the brother of Shivanand Salgaocar, Vivek’s father.

As of December 2024, Forbes lists Dilip Shanghvi as India’s richest healthcare billionaire, with a net worth of $29.2 billion (around Rs 2,42,360 crore). His vision and leadership have cemented Sun Pharma's place as a global pharmaceutical powerhouse. (Image Credit: File Photo)
