New Delhi, Sept 02: A day after they met Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, cellular operators today approached Communication and IT Minister Arun Shourie seeking an immediate implementation of TDSAT's order on WLL. "I have told them (cellular operators) that work on TDSAT's order including ensuring a level playing field between WLL and cellular operators and on the unified licensing regime is going on simultaneously," Shourie told a news agency. Shourie also said that the formula for creation of a level playing field, as directed by TDSAT, was being worked out as an "interim arrangement" and "then the sector will move towards unified licensing regime." As far as restricting the limitedness of WLL telephony is concerned, cellular operators had themselves said that switch used by WLL operators was the key, Shourie said adding the technology issue for WLL (V5.2 switch) was presently under the consideration of TDSAT. "Lets wait for TDSAT's judgement on it," he said.

Meanwhile, Shourie also met Advani and apprised him about various issues in the telecom sector.
