Lakhimpur Kheri (UP), June 11: Voicing concern over impartiality of the police probe into the murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla, her sister today claimed that Madhumita was "not pregnant" and the foetus sent for DNA test was "fabricated". Stating the theory that Madhumita was pregnant at the time of her death was "far from truth", Nidhi Shukla, the poetess' sister, said the foetus sent to Hyderabad Institute for a DNA test was also "fabricated".

"Had she been five months pregnant as is being claimed by the police, the family members would have known about it," she told reporters here.

She said in order to verify this fact, the video cassettes of the poetess taking part in a 'kavi sammelan' in April last could also be checked.

Nidhi, who had earlier created a storm by blaming the wife of former state minister Amarmani Tripathi for the murder of Madhumita and had subsequently retracted her statement by giving a clean chit to the minister's family, today denied that she had ever given a clean chit to anyone in the case.

Expressing doubts over the impartiality of the CB-CID inquiring into her sister's murder, she demanded proper questioning of all those found linked with the poetess, irrespective of their political affiliations.

When the family members of Madhumita are being questioned all the rest connected with the case should also be interrogated by the CB-CID, she said.

She alleged that the agency inquiring into the murder was destroying evidences in the case to save the guilty.
