Jaipur, May 31: The Rajasthan High Court has issued notices to the state government and a senior minister on a public interest litigation alleging illegal mining by the minister's son. Yesterday, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Anil Dev Singh and Justice K S Rathore issued notices to the state government, Minister for Woman and Child Development Madhav Singh Diwan and his son Kishen Singh, on a petition filed by Paashan Utpadak Sahkari Samiti – a co-operative body of miners. The petition alleged that the minister's son and his associates indulged in illegal mining and terrorised those opposing them. It also alleged that the police was taking no action against them. The petitioner had registered a case against the minister's son and his associates in Bharatpur district for forcible illegal mining and terrorising people in September last year. A similar case was registered with the police against Shiv Singh, brother of a local MLA of Roopbas, Nirbhay Lal Jatav, and his friends earlier and no action was taken then.
