New Delhi, June 08: Communist Party of India (ML)
today urged President A P J Abdul Kalam to advise Prime
Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to immediately remove Deputy
Prime Minister L K Advani and Union Human Resource Minister
Murli Manohar Joshi from the cabinet in the wake of the recent
allegation against them by five kar sevaks.
In a letter to the president, CPI (ML) general secretary
Dipankar Bhattacharya said "in view of the specific
allegations levelled by five of the accused in the Babri
Masjid demolition case the status of the two Union ministers
has become untenable."
The five accused in the case had yesterday alleged that the act of demolition of the dispute structure was done at the "instigation" of Advani and other BJP leaders, including former Union Minister Uma Bharti.
The party also appealed to all the secular forces of the country to mount popular pressure on the Vajpayee government to ensure that "exemplary punishment is meted out to the ring leaders of the case."
