Bikaner, Oct 21: Extending night curfew in areas
bordering Pakistan for two months, the district administration
has also banned telephone calls to the neighbouring country
from public call offices in these areas, official sources
said here today.
The orders have been issued by the District Magistrate to
effectively check infiltration from across the border and
control undesirable activities in border areas, besides to
prevent criminal elements from using means of
telecommunication, sources said.
Instructions have also been issued to keep strict vigil in a two km stretch along the border, particularly in villages of Pungal, Khajuwala and Kolayat tehsils.
Farmers would be required to seek permission from the nearest border post for visiting their farms during the night.
All operators of public call offices on the west side of National Highway no.15 have been directed not to allow anyone to call on Pakistan's ISD code and also keep separate registers entering all international calls made from there and send the information to respective tehsildars and police stations every week.
The District Magistrate has also promulgated prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CRPC in the district till December 10 to frustrate criminal elements who might become active during the assembly elections, sources added.
