Patna, Feb 05: Senior Congress leader Prem Chandra Mishra was today suspended for allegedly violating party discipline. In a letter to Mishra, AICC general secretary and in-charge of Bihar affairs Oscar Fernandes said his issuing a statement to the press asking for a review of the party's support to the RJD regime constituted a prima facie evidence of breach of discipline and therefore he was placed under suspension pending completion of an inquiry.
The copies of the letter were released to the press by the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee here.
Mishra had recently urged the Congress high command to review the party's support to the 'corrupt and ineffective' RJD regime to refurbish the image of the party. He had also sought immediate removal of the BPCC president, Shakeel Ahmed, for his failure to expand the party's base in Bihar.
Mishra was not available for his comment as he was away in New Delhi. Bureau Report
