Jammu, Nov 27: Dr Sudhir S Bloeria has been appointed as the new chief secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. Bloeria's name was cleared for the top job by the state cabinet which met here today with chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in the chair, official sources said. Presently director of enforcement in the Union Ministry of Finance, Bloeria replaces I S Malhi who is retiring on superannuation on November 30.
An IAS officer of 1968 batch, Bloeria, a soldier-turned- bureaucrat, has served in various capacities during his over three decades of administrative career. Besides holding several important posts in the state, he had served as Additional Secretary (Kashmir affairs) in the Union Home Ministry prior to his appointment as enforcement director.
