Srinagar, Oct 17: For the 81 children of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, who are on a four-day visit to Kashmir for the first time since their parents left their homes and hearth 14 years ago, it was a dream come true. "We are feeling on the top of the world after visiting the land of our parents and have found Kashmir more beautiful than imagined," they told reporters here last evening.
Surabhi Razdan, a class 8th student, now putting up at Noida in Delhi, said she was very happy to visit the land of her parents. Similar were the views of Akshay Fotedar, a class 6th student in Delhi. All of them had the desire to visit their ancestral houses and localities in Kashmir and hoped that this would materilize when they come next time with their parents.
Akshay Koul said he found Kashmir more beautiful than he had imagined and felt like staying back here. Excited as they were to get a feel of their roots and be the guest of the chief minister, the children sang songs about the beauty and cuisine of Kashmir.
The children visited Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Khir Bhawani, Shankaracharya, Mattan and Hazratbal and were enamoured by the scenic splendour of these places. Bureau Report
