Three employees suspended for Shakurbasti rail mishap
New Delhi, Aug 24: Three railway employees have been suspended and an enquiry ordered into yesterday`s rail accident near Shakurbasti in which two persons were killed and 21 injured.

The Northern Railway has ordered suspension of the Cabinman, Pointsman and shunting driver prima facie for the accident at Shakurbasti and Commissioner, Railway Safety G P Garg has been asked to enquire into the accident and fix responsibility, an official release said here.
Northern Railway has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs one lakh each to the next of kin of the two persons killed and Rs 15,000 for serious injuries and Rs 5000 for simple injuries sustained in the mishap. Both up and down main lines were cleared by 8.15 am this morning and normal traffic restored.
The accident took place after a Rohtak-bound train collided head-on with two stationary engines near Shakurbasti in West Delhi last night.
