Shimla, Nov 02: The Himachal Pradesh government today announced a Rs 13.75 crore relief package for drought-hit families in rural areas of the state. The `relief kits` costing between Rs 200 and Rs 500 would be provided free of cost and six departments would coordinate to successfully implement the new relief package, state revenue minister Rajan Sushant told reporters here. He said about 13-lakh drought hit farmers would be benefitted by the new relief package comprising six schemes but one family would be entitled for relief under one scheme only.
Regeneration of water sources in shortage-hit areas and transport subsidy on fodder were also included under the package, he said. Sushant said that free `Kissan Kits` would be supplied to farmers containing 15 kg of wheat seeds and fodder and vegetable seeds, suitable for different areas. Bureau Report
