New Delhi, May 11: With key NDA ally Telugu Desam Party suffering a severe drubbing in Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, alliance convenor George Fernandes today met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to review the emerging situation. The two leaders are understood to have discussed the assembly results and the current political situation where exit polls have predicted a hung parliament with BJP-led NDA falling short of the magic figure of 272 in Lok Sabha.

This comes ahead of BJP leaders meeting the Prime Minister later in the day to chalk out a strategy for securing a simple majority to retain power.
