Churchill, two players fined, team suspended
Margao, Sept 27: Following the recommendations of its disciplinary committee report, the Goa Football Association (GFA) has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on president of Churchill bros football team Churchill Alemao and suspended him from any football related activity upto the end of the Videocon Professional League.

The disciplinary committee, headed by Eustaquio Pereira,
fined the team Rs 5,000 and also recommended disciplinary
action on two Churhcill bros players Denzil Ferrao and Reagan
Alemao, GFA secretary Savio Messias told here yesterday.
While Denzil was suspended for the next eight matches and fined Rs 5,000 for assaulting the referee, Regan was slapped a four match suspension and a fine of Rs 5,000 for manhandling the referee.
The Churchill bros secretary and team manager Ciabro Alemao was cautioned for misconduct and misbehaviour with the supervising officials.
However, no action was taken against three others who were issued show cause notice. They are Cruz Ferrao (official), Osumanu Hussein (defender) and Noel Wilson (capt).
After the Dempo-Churchill match held on September 17 at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, referee Joao Pereira and assistant referee Benjamin D'silva had alleged in their report to the match commissioner Romeo Pires that the players and officials of Churchill Bros Sports Club had assaulted them, Messias added.
