The Supreme Court Friday granted interim bail for six months on severe conditions to former Bihar chief ministers Laloo Prasad Yadav and Dr Jagannath Mishra in one of the multi-crore fodder scam related cases, pending before a Ranchi special court. The court imposed conditions especially on Yadav asking him to desist from euphoria or demonstrations in celebration of his release. He was also asked not to make any comment on pending cases for publicity sake.
A bench of Justice K T Thomas and Justice S N Phookan directed release of Yadav and Mishra after they furnished bail bonds of Rs one lakh each and sureties of the same amount.
The two had been in judicial custody since November 26 after the special court had rejected their bail petitions.
