Islamabad, July 26: Pakistan today concluded its biggest wargame in three decades with President Pervez Musharraf asserting that its armed forces were capable of delivering a "telling blow" to "anyone" attacking the country even as world leaders visit the sub-continent to de-escalate tension between New Delhi and Islamabad. In an obvious reference to India as "adversary", Musharraf said "Pakistan is faced with an adversary that has made no secret of its desire to harm our country in every way possible and is only deterred by the capability of our armed forces".

"The potential of Pakistan armed forces to not only defend every inch of the motherland but also strike a telling blow on anyone who dared to violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country", the military ruler said while expressing satisfaction over successful completion of the 10-day long exercises.

All three wings of its defence forces -- army, navy and airforce participated in the wargame. Addressing senior army officers and those who participated in the exercises, he said "our desire for peace should not be misperceived as a sign of weakness" according to a defence ministry release this evening.
