Hyderabad, Dec 23: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today asked the police to be cautious about the growing cyber crimes in the wake of emergence of the information technology sector.
"With the increased it utilisation in every walk of life, there is a danger of increase in cyber crimes in future," Naidu said while addressing senior police officers after inaugurating the first "Cyber Crime Police Station (CCPS)" at the DGP`s office here.
"We must be well equipped to face the challenges of white collar crimes. If we do not take steps to control the cyber crime it would be dangerous in future as every government department including vital institutions are being connected with IT network," the Chief Minister said.
Naidu said his government is giving top priority to police department to provide and equip them with all modern facilities to ensure effective detection of cyber crimes.
The IT savvy Chief Minister said though his government has taken various steps to use it in every department, "we still have to move further in utilisation of IT."



The police officer of the rank of Additional SP would be in-charge of the newly created CCPs, probably first of its kind in the country. The CCPs will have two DSPs, four inspectors, six sub-inspectors and other expert staff.



Home Minister T Devender Goud and Additional DGP (CID) M L Kumawat also addressed the meeting.



Earlier, Naidu also inaugurated the first state level computer crime lab at Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratories.
