Jammu, Jan 27: Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today welcomed the invitation by PDP finance minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig to the Prime Minister to fight the Lok Sabha polls from Jammu and Kashmir but said Atal Bihari Vajpayee would contest the elections from his sitting seat Lucknow. "Ten or five years ago, who would have thought that the ruling party would invite the prime minister to fight elections from Kashmir...To be the representative of the people (of the state) in the Lok Sabha...And all parties would be supporting him," he told reporters here.

"This has happened today," Advani said.

However, the Prime Minister would fight elections from Lucknow, he said. But the point was that the invitation showed how much change has come in Jammu and Kashmir as also the faith of the people of the state in the Vajpayee government, Advani added.
