Jaipur, Nov 11: Huundreds of Congress workers led by party leader Shankar Lal Sharma today stormed the Pradesh Congress Committee office here protesting against the party's
act of favoritism and nepotism in ticket distribution, a spokesman said.
Sharma, who lost the last assembly poll with low margin from the Bassi constituency against the BJP candidate, strongly objected to the selection of his junior and less
known leader Jagdish Tiwari from his town, the spokesman said.
The mob also jostled with the PCC staff who prevented them from meeting the state Congress president, Dr Girija Vyas, but later on she called them and justified the AICC's role in ticket distribution. However the road was blocked by the workers for hours, and the PCC witnessed uproar as they demanded immediate change in the list of candidates.
Police was also called to maintain law and order but there was no untoward incident, the superintendent of police, Anand Srivastava said.
