New Delhi, July 30: Burying the hatchet, BJP tonight decided to continue its coalition arrangement with BSP in Uttar Pradesh with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee making it clear that both the parties should follow coalition ethics. At a meeting of the central parliamentary board the BJP top brass decided to treat the chapter over Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's demand for removal of Union Tourism Minister Jagmohan as "closed" following her withdrawal of the demand.
Briefing reporters after the 90-minute meeting, BJP spokesman Pramod Mahajan told reporters the party felt that in future such incidents should not happen and the coalition should function under Mayawati's leadership. The meeting presided over by party president M Venkaiah Naidu was also attended by all the nine members including Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Union ministers Murli Manohar Joshi and Jaswant Singh, besides state party leaders.
