New Delhi, July 15: Nitish Kumar, who resigned from the government yesterday perturbed over inner party wranglings, today refused to take back his resignation and said he would not attend office in Rail Bhavan.
"My heart is broken," the railway minister told news agencies.

Asked if he would go back to work as Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee did not accept his resignation, Kumar said that there was no question of withdrawing resignation despite persuasion from his senior party leader and defence minister George Fernandes to return to Rail Bhavan.

Fernandes had spoken to Kumar last night after he had sent in his papers to prime minister and is understood to have told the railway minister to get back to work.
