Jammu, Oct 13: In a setback to the mufti government in Jammu and Kashmir, the state high court has stayed transfer of high profile IAS officer, B R Singh, who is considered close to former chief minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah to special tribunal as member from the post of principal secretary, information technology. In his order yesterday, Justice Parmod Kohli stayed the government order transferring Singh who will continue as principal secretary, information technology.

The court, has however, transferred the matter to a larger bench to decide whether or not the high court should interfere in the matter of transfers of IAS officers.

In his petition, Singh said that he was being victimised as he was being member of a tribunal whose chairman he was 10 years ago and pointed out that that he had been evicted from the government accommodation to which he was entitled as an IAS officer.
